SEMENGGOH WILDLIFE CENTRE

In the morning/afternoon, your guide will meet you and together you depart to Semenggoh Wildlife Centre where you will have the chance to observe the Orang Utans coming out of the forest for the feeding time. Located in a 653-hectare of forest reserve.

Here, an opportunity for you to observe how Orang Utans who are either orphaned or rescued from captivity are being rehabilitated and trained to survive in the wild. Your guide will give you further details about these amazing animals. After this fascinating experience you will proceed back to Kuching.

Depart for Bidayuh Longhouse tour. A pleasant drive into the countryside with the backdrop of undulating landscapes of limestone hills and valleys covered with the greenery of rainforest offers a gorgeous sight before arriving at the longhouse.

The Annah Rais Longhouse which stands on the same site where the longhouse was first built 200 years ago still stand with its unique architecture built largely of bamboo, wood and leaves. The Bidayuh are absolutely warm and gentle people whose previous generations once lived as farmers and believed in animism. After registration, proceed for guided walk within the longhouse to learn more about the local lifestyle.

Visit the Baruk (Skulls House), show house and nearby farmlands. Return to longhouse and join them for preparing your lunch & learn how to cook chicken in the bamboo. Bamboo chicken is our world-famous signature dish, which you got to taste it at least once on your trip to Borneo, or your Borneo's trip will never be completed.

WORLD WAR II HERITAGE TRAILS

The starts with a journey to the Kuching’s Batu Lintang Interment Camp used to huddled the Allied prisoners of war and Dutch civilians. While the camp site is now converted into a National Teacher Training College, some remains are still holistic sites to behold as we assist you to explore the “Punjabi Barracks” building, the flagpole, an ammunition bunker of struggles including local heroes who sacrificed their lives.

From Batu Lintang, we shall drive downtown to sightsee/visit our WWII’s Heroes Memorial Tablet (13 Garland Men) Air Raid Bunkers, Charles Brooke’s Memorial Tower (site of Heroes’ tributes). The tour concludes with a leisurely drive across Sarawak River to comprehend this tour with a visit to Fort Margherita for its WWII section along Q&A session.

KUCHING HISTORICAL WALKING TOUR

Begin your tour by walking through the historical parts of the old Kuching city. Pass by spice shops, the Main Bazaar with various textiles and handicrafts shops and view the various historical buildings from the past.

Continue your tour by taking a River Taxi (1 hour pontoon boat river cruise) on the winding Sarawak River. It is a memorable way to bring you back in time; time when the English adventurer, Sir James Brooke first set sailed in this region in 1839 with his yacht the "Royalist".

This cruise will take you along the edges of the river to enjoy an eye-to-eye views of the well laid out Kuching Waterfront, Square Tower (formerly a V.I.P - very important prison), old Kuching Mosque with the 5 golden domes, Malay Stilted Houses, before browsing along the other side of the river to view the Astana (former palace of the White Rajahs), Fort Margherita (former Police Museum) and fishing trawlers.

The trail starts from Kuching with a country drive for 40mins to Siniawan Village, Hakka obsolete business base to unfold the Chinese Legacy of Numerology Geomancy (authentic wooden shop-houses), Saliva of Hope (Bird’s Nests) and Mountain Elf (Siniawan Tao Temple).

Continue with a short drive to a secluded spot where Liew's Sanctuary is located with a hill at its background and a river bypassing its front where Liew Shan Pang was once quoted as saying, “An endless journey to go with an entire hill to climb comes not without any tribulation. Our sweat and blood is immeasurable like the flow of the river.”

Continue with a drive to Bau absorbing mystical chronicles, mythologies and philosophies on places like Chinese (Hakka) Cemetery, Bong Low Sian Tze (Tao) Temple and Bau Blue Lake (former gold mine). Return to Kuching by late afternoon.
