Wildlife Day Trip

Head over to Kubah National Park and embark on the Main Trail from the Park HQ (approximately 1–1.5 hours) to connect with the Waterfall Trail. This moderately challenging trek leads through lush, wet rainforest with steep and slippery sections. The trail steadily descends from the summit road into the Rayu River valley, you’ll notice a dramatic change in the vegetation, with the air becoming noticeably more humid and damper. The trail crosses several creeks — keep an eye out for otters, frogs, and birds along the way. Eventually, you’ll reach the stunning waterfall, a wide curtain of water which falls 10 meters down a sheer sandstone wall, onto a granite slab and into a small, clear pebbly pool—perfect for a refreshing dip. Another smaller waterfall flows into the left side of the pool and you may catch sight of black-spotted rock frogs in this area and along the riverbank, known for their impressive leaps. Lunch is provided.
