Welcome to our Lun Bawang cultural tour package!
Explore the rich history of the Lun Bawang people, who were on the brink of extinction before the arrival of Christian missionaries in 1928. Discover their ancient trading practices with China, which included the use of huge jars and porcelain in their burial rites. These artefacts can still be found in the ancient graveyards of the Lun Bawang.
Experience the cultural exchange that occurred between the Lun Bawang and the Brunei Malays through barter trading. Learn about the important role the Lun Bawang played in Sarawak's history, including their rebellion against Vyner Brooke, the third Rajah of Sarawak, who led an expeditionary force to the highlands.

Tour Plan
Day 1 - From Lawas to Merarap Hot Spring Lodge
Upon arrival at Lawas airport, our friendly staff will meet and greet you before heading to re-supply for any personal items you may need. From there, we will embark on a scenic 2-hour overland trip via 4WD to Long Lidung Fish Conservation, with a short stop at the Menagang Place. We will then continue on to Long Merarap, where we will visit the British Royal Air Forces crash Memorial Site before transferring to the Merarap Hot Spring Lodge. Get ready to soak in the natural hot springs and enjoy the serene surroundings. (Tea Break / Dinner)
Day 2 - Nature and Culture Experience
After a relaxing morning at Merarap Hot Spring, enjoy a hearty breakfast before packing up for a journey to Semadoh valley. Take time to mingle with the locals and experience their way of life. (Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner)
Day 3 - Lun Bawang Cultural Trekking Adventure
Embark on a wild adventure after a hearty breakfast. Begin with a short walk to the Rev. Alan Francis Belcher and his wife Madge Blecher memorial site, where they lived while translating the Holy Bible into the Lun Bawang language. Explore the historical sites of the ancient Lun Bawang indigenous tribes before they underwent social and spiritual transformation. Continue the trek along native trails in Wat Gerawat jungle, winding towards secondary mixed dipterocarp forests. Along the way, check and mark some beautiful pitcher plants. Spend the night at Wat Gerawat camping ground, surrounded by nature. (Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner)
Day 4 - Scenic Hike and Village Stay
After a relaxing morning with breathtaking views, we will have breakfast and prepare for a scenic hike along the Wat Gerawet ridge to reach the Pegkung Batuh viewpoint. After a satisfying lunch, we will continue our journey to search for the majestic agathist trees. In the late afternoon, we will arrive at Puneng Trusan village, where we will spend the night and experience the unique local culture. (Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner)
Day 5 - Cultural Immersion and Culinary Delight
Start the day with excitement as you join your friendly homestay host for a market tour to search for fresh ingredients needed for your local cooking session. Learn how to prepare traditional and tasty dishes with the guidance of your host. Later in the evening, experience a cultural dinner with a local dance performance. Immerse yourself in the rich cultural heritage of the Lun Bawang people and savor the delicious local cuisine. (Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner)
Day 6 -Saying Goodbye to Your Host Family
In the morning, pack your belongings and say goodbye to your host family while exchanging gifts. Take some final photos before getting ready for the transfer back to Lawas Town. (Breakfast)
